OPEN TRAIL INITIATIVE
Our extended community at Urban Lodge is an eclectic group of outdoor enthusiasts - hikers, campers, mountain bikers, hunters, anglers, skiers... Whether you walk your dog at the local park or hit the mountains for overnight backpacking extravaganzas, one thing is certain - natural spaces are for everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or geographic barriers. We believe in the unique value of developing a personal connection with the natural world, and the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits that it provides. We believe in the power of beer; we believe in the power of Open Trails.
First and foremost, Open Trail is a beer. And like any good beer, it brings people together.

Launched in July 2021, Open Trail was designed as a light and approachable New England Pale Ale with a touch of Citra hops- America’s most popular craft beer hop. With each purchase of Open Trail, Urban Lodge sends a portion of proceeds to our Open Trail Initiative Fund.
Every quarter, the funds are donated to one of our amazing local nonprofit partners. This network of nonprofits includes conservation organizations who work to protect lands, waters, wildlife, and public land access, along with outdoor communities who strive to inspire a love for, and stewardship of, the outdoors.
Since its launch, Open Trail has become our most popular pint. It has provided a simple yet effective way for lovers of the outdoors to support the organizations who are working toward our common goals:

Hop River Trail Alliance Volunteers, Town Representatives from the 7 trail towns and Connecticut DEEP - dedicated to the care and promotion of the Hop River State Park Trail for transportation, recreation and economic development.
